Thinking Jule

Bruce Von Stiers

Jule Carey is a multi-talented individual. She is an actress, and Jule is also a singer. Jule grew up in New Jersey , just a mere ten minutes from New York City . So you might say that Jule has some of that New York attitude. And it reflects in her music. Not that attitude is a bad thing. In fact, it works well for Jule. She has a self produced and released album titled Little Did I Think. It is full of attitude and great music.

The title track Little Did I Think has Jule belting out lyrics about a relationship that went completely out of balance. Jule has a voice that catches your attention immediately. A touch of Janis Joplin mixed in with a little bit bluesy rock and plenty of chutzpah.

Dear Diane cranks out a Southern Rock intro then settles into a lyrical tune. The way the verses were laid out reminded me of Harry Chapin's Cat's Cradle. This song has some really decent guitar backing Jule's vocals.

This Place Called Home slows things down a bit. It is an almost smooth Country / Rock tune.

Where The War Is Now is done in a David Bowie styling. Then Where Is Love Now cranks out some more great rock guitar along with good vocals by Jule.

Callin' You Home, Our Love's For Real, He's A Diamond and Another Goodbye are the others songs on the album. Each of these songs has fine music providing Jule with a wonderful background to display her singing abilities.

Jule does voice-overs, acts in horror films and is the on air personality for ExtremeRadio.co.uk. Adding top drawer rock and roll singer to her accomplishments isn't too much of a stretch. Jule is a good rock and roll singer who surrounds herself with musicians who play some great background music.
